Ferris Wheel
A mighty 70-footer will be erected Wednesday, May 16, on the grass next to the lifeguard parking lot at the end of Santa Monica Ave. Day or night, at 70 feet high the view will be spectacular.
Children must be at least 54" tall to ride the wheel alone but there is no height restriction to ride with a responsible adult.
Tickets will be available on site.

91X Ditch Day
Sometimes, you need to just take a day for you. Sometimes, you need to just sit back and take stock and think about what's happening in your life and put things into perspective and try to figure out what it all means and what we're all doing here and what's really important in life and, as they say, stop and smell the roses.
But sometimes, like Friday, May 18th, you just need to party at the beach! Forget all that other stuff! It's 91X Ditch Day!
Take a ride on the Ferris wheel and the 135' water slide, relax, have a beer, check out the Temptress Pin-up Fashion Show and the Bikini Contest. 91X is doing a live broadcast, and DJ nOn profit, The CHI Club, and The Legacy Pack will be setting the mood.
Friday, May 18th is the day you need to take care of yourself.
Update: In case you need even more reason to do what's good for you, we're willing to meet you half way. Anyone who shows up between noon and 1:31 PM (that's 91 minutes) in a bikini top gets 2 for 1 beers, Ferris wheel rides, and water slide slides. That's only from 12:00 PM to 1:31 PM.

Temptress Pin-Up Fashion Show
Temptress Fashion is a vintage inspired boutique dedicated to The Pin up Lifestyle. Their deliciously provocative couture drapes and clings to a woman's body like a man wishes he could and shows her off in the most distractingly sensual way possible. Temptress is located at 1918 Bacon Street, just one block east of the fashion show so if you see something you like you can pick it up on your way home.
Also, they now carry menswear in their Retro Rebels division.

San Diego BIG Beach Clean Up
Like everything else, if you want something done right you've got to do it yourself. Cleaning up the beach is one of the more important of those things so San Diego Beach Improvement Group (San Diego BIG) is organizing people to do just that starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 19th. Although you probably already clean up your own mess (most people do), if you've got a few minutes we would appreciate it if you would help us clean up after the asses who don't seem to give a damn.

San Diego BIG Volleyball Tournament
San Diego BIG will also be will be hosting a beach volleyball tournament from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 19th, to helps raise money for Ocean Beach's beach clean up efforts.

Craft Beer Tasting
Craft brew beer tasting in the beer garden from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Thrill your taste buds with some of the 11 different craft beers available for tasting! Can you taste the difference between a Hefeweizen and a Lager? Prove it! Cleanse your palate with an IPA between a lager and a red!
Your ticket will get you free entry into the beer garden (a $3 savings) and six, 6 ounce servings from the excellent selection of craft brew beers on hand. Tasting tickets will only be available until 2:00 PM Saturday and cost $20 or in advance for $15. Obviously you will have to be at least 21 years of age to enter the beer garden.

Human Haulin'
Silly San Diego presents this mashup of traditional and non-traditional wife carrying on a regulation 253.5 meter course. Contestants 21 and up compete for the customary wife's weight in beer.
